Having completed over 175 various multisport events since 2006, over 80 triathlons and fortunate to have won over 18; completed five Ironman events with a 9:50 PR, 15 70.3s with a 4:14 PR in my last event… as an able bodied athlete. On May 17, 2014 I finished Ironman Texas and I was back home training for Ironman Canada when on a normal training ride, a car made an illegal u-turn, struck me and left me paralyzed from the chest down on June 12, 2014. The triathlon community meant survival, compassion and support.
